so i was reading through the headlines in the advocate today, and came across this story. my first reaction to this was wow, this really happens. but then that was dismissed with the fact that this is in the state of Utah which highly condems homosexuality. this is where i became very unimpressed. my personal belief on the whole issue of gay parents fostering and adopting children is why not let them? if they can provide a stable safe environment for the child then just leave it be. now the problem i see is that the hard Christian right believes every homosexual is a pedophile and if they are given guardianship over a child they will only use them for their sexual fantasys. and yes, i'm not going to say this doesnt happen, however it happens in cases with heterosexual couples also. why can't people just believe that not all gay people are the same, yes there are some bad eggs but as a whole we are just living out our lives the best way we know how.

BREAKING NEWS

Ok so while on the Kansas City Star website I clicked on the breaking news tab on the side. To my suprise and amusement this was the first aricle under breaking news. The fact that the mayor's Christmas tree was going to arrive today. Ok that just made me laugh a bit, because when you continue to scroll down the other headlines mostly talk about shootings, and car accidents, and trials...Things that I would consider breaking news, but all of this is preceded with the fact that the mayor is getting his Christmas tree. wow. Wait to prioritize there. :)

So I was updating myself on the latest happenings on facebook when I noticed one of my friends posted this note and I had to read it. The article pretty much speaks for itself, and I just wanted to say about time. This terrible family has been terrorizing families of soldiers that were KIA for what? One thing in the US military that they don't agree with. Well my words to them is grow up and have a little respect. There are worse things in the military than allowing gay people to join. Look at this whole war fiasco, if you want to protest about anything do it about the war in general. However, do it at an approperiate place. This would not include a funeral of a soldier. Those families have gone through enough, they don't need you making it worse.
